5.3 Hotfixes: June 10th, Silent Hunter Nerf, I Believe So!
So it’s patch day and I log in to play once everything is back up and decided to do some rare farming. The first rare of the day I get attacked by the opposite faction. It’s a DK so I switch targets and he kills me. Granted he had 169% mastery and was spamming Death Strike the whole time. I try again and it doesn’t turn out so well for the 2nd time. I check my logs and my DPS is just terrible. I mean it’s sickening and so off to the training dummy I go.
Now Monday night I worked on some rotations for about 2 hours, putting them in a macro to make sure I stay with a constant rotation for testing purposes. My min DPS was 102k and my Max was 124k in Full PVP gear mind you. I hit those numbers every time like clockwork. Today when I tested my DPS it was at min from 62k to a max of 81k.
I tested for nearly 2 hours again and it came out the same every time. Not only is my DPS down drastically but I upgraded several pieces of gear which should have raised my prior DPS up some.
So to recap here is a comparison from the past 24 hours.
102k / 124k Yesterday: 2 hour test.
62k / 81k Today: 2 hour test.
Here is what the Hotfix says:
[bluepost]Hunter
General
Arcane Shot now deals 10% more damage. [Requires a realm restart]
Cobra Shot now deals 10% more damage. [Requires a realm restart]
Hunter Pets summoned by Stampede now only use auto-attacks against their target. [Requires a realm restart]
Steady Shot now deals 10% more damage. [Requires a realm restart]
Talents
Blink Strikes now has a 10-yard minimum range, and the teleportation effect cannot happen more than once every 20 seconds. [Requires a realm restart][/bluepost]
None of that should cause me to lose so much DPS. I do however dislike that Blizzard keeps screwing with Blink Strikes. Our one main ability to compete with other classes that have huge bursts and it keeps getting worse and worse.
*sigh!
